"Brightly Beams Our Father's Mercy" - June 27, 2022

Well, hello! Happy P Day, family and friends! We have had quite a week, filled with miracles. First, we ran out of miles for the month last Monday. We had to drive a lot farther than we thought for our district p day activity. So, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, we were all on foot. A member in the ward did give us a ride a couple times but for the most part we walked everywhere. It was OK but not very effective for us accomplishing this work. We weren't able to meet with our friends as much as we wanted to. BUT! The Lord is aware of us all and our needs. If He had provided means for us to drive where we needed to the last time we ran out of miles He would provide it for us this time too! Thursday evening Elder Lambson, the vehicle coordinator for the mission, called and asked if we would like a new car!!!! What??!!! Of course we said yes! We drove up to meet him on Friday and when we got there he told us our miles were reset for the month! So... we have a month's worth of m...

Hello hello from Beckley, West Virginia! And Happy West Virginia Day!!! June 20, 1863 - The day West Virginia became a state! Pretty exciting! Wow! It was quite a week. On Tuesday we went to do service for Sister D. We were planning on helping out with her soap business because that's what we usually do. Well, we actually helped her touch up her chain link fence that was just painted black. It was so hot and humid outside! But we made it through! Also, we all somehow got paint everywhere! It was all over my hands and legs and there was even a little in my hair! How?! I'm not sure! It was wild. We had planned to go dotting and knocking afterward but decided we should clean up instead. We came home and had to scrub ourselves so hard! It was an oil based paint so it didn't come off easily!! But all in all it was a very fun time and it was a nice change of pace from what we usually do! We had some great lessons this week with our friends! We have two new friends! James and ...

"He Walked a Mile in My Shoes" - June 13, 2022

Hey everyone!  It has been a wild week here! Lots of little blessings each day! I've also learned a lot about the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Tuesday was Zone Conference!!! It was President and Sister Newman's last one. They leave on June 30. But, then we get to meet the new Mission President and his wife! It will be both sad and exciting!!! Zone Conference was amazing!! We learned about enduring to the end. It doesn't mean just making it through, it means finding joy as we come closer to Christ! It's a happy thing!! We learned about sea turtles and how they relate to enduring to the end. It was cool! Also, it was a tri-zone conference! So I got to see most of my past companions and so many missionaries that I know!! It was wonderful!! Melissa, Krista and Katie, our three friends on date, are all doing ok. We haven't been able to meet with them this week due to various reasons but please keep them all in your prayers this week!!  Friday and Saturday were so much fu...

Hello, hello, family and friends! It was a week of joy here in Beckley, WV! Just so many miracles each day! First, we met with Katie and her boyfriend last Monday at iHop! We taught a lesson on the importance of our baptismal covenants and what it all means. We then set a date for Katie!!!! She is going to be baptized on July 23rd! We are so excited for her!!!! We asked her why she wanted to be baptized and she talked about how different things had continued to happen that seemed to point her more and more to God. She could see how He was working in her life! She is so ready and so prepared! Please keep her in your prayers this week! The next miracle we had was our lesson with Krista and Melissa! We did a similar lesson to Katie's. We talked about baptism and then set a date for both of them to be baptized!! Krista and Melissa will be baptized on June 25th! This is so exciting!!! Sister Spaeth asked them to share why they wanted to be and Krista talked about being ready to change ...
