"Brightly Beams Our Father's Mercy" - June 27, 2022
Well, hello! Happy P Day, family and friends!
We have had quite a week, filled with miracles.
First, we ran out of miles for the month last Monday. We had to drive a lot farther than we thought for our district p day activity. So, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, we were all on foot. A member in the ward did give us a ride a couple times but for the most part we walked everywhere. It was OK but not very effective for us accomplishing this work. We weren't able to meet with our friends as much as we wanted to. BUT! The Lord is aware of us all and our needs. If He had provided means for us to drive where we needed to the last time we ran out of miles He would provide it for us this time too! Thursday evening Elder Lambson, the vehicle coordinator for the mission, called and asked if we would like a new car!!!! What??!!! Of course we said yes! We drove up to meet him on Friday and when we got there he told us our miles were reset for the month! So... we have a month's worth of miles to use in 1 week!! Haha! And we have a brand new car to go with it! As we are true, faithful and obedient to the Lords commandments we will see miracles. In Sunday School that week we had talked about how being obedient was better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22). We were obedient to our allotted amount of miles and the Lord blessed us!
We had some great lessons with Krista, Melissa and Krista's boyfriend Shawn this week! They are doing great! We started teaching Shawn yesterday after he came with them to church! It was so incredible! Krista is really enjoying coming. Melissa is too! Please keep them all in your prayers!
After walking to and from our lesson on Thursday I took my shoes off to find 3 big blisters on both of my heels. So much fun!! It made me so grateful to have our new car on Friday! And hey! I felt like a true missionary with blisters on my feet. So, theres a bright side to everything!
Song of the Week: "Brightly Beams Our Father's Mercy" Hymn 335. This is President and Sister Newmans last week in the mission. This song has been like a mission theme song for them. They love lighthouses and this song talks about them. It also applies to missionary work. We all have the Light of Christ inside of us. As we come closer to Christ we shine that Light brighter and brighter. Others are able to see that light and be guided safely into the harbor, where they grow their lights! I am so grateful to be here in West Virginia shining my light for these people.
I hope everyone has a bright week! Talk to y'all next Monday!
