"My Heavenly Father Loves Me" - June 20, 2022

Hello hello from Beckley, West Virginia!

And Happy West Virginia Day!!! June 20, 1863 - The day West Virginia became a state! Pretty exciting!

Wow! It was quite a week. On Tuesday we went to do service for Sister D. We were planning on helping out with her soap business because that's what we usually do. Well, we actually helped her touch up her chain link fence that was just painted black. It was so hot and humid outside! But we made it through! Also, we all somehow got paint everywhere! It was all over my hands and legs and there was even a little in my hair! How?! I'm not sure! It was wild. We had planned to go dotting and knocking afterward but decided we should clean up instead. We came home and had to scrub ourselves so hard! It was an oil based paint so it didn't come off easily!! But all in all it was a very fun time and it was a nice change of pace from what we usually do!

We had some great lessons this week with our friends! We have two new friends! James and Kayla. James was previously taught by missionaries and had reached out to them asking to meet again! Those missionaries referred him to us! It was so exciting! He loves to learn and seems to really understand what we teach. Kayla is awesome! She attends lessons with James. She also is doing amazing and is just so hungry for this message, even if she doesn't quite see it yet. We are super excited for them!

We met with Keishod and had a good lesson with him about prophets! He hasn't really been reading the Book of Mormon and isn't responding to a lot of our messages. Please keep him in your prayers this week!

Melissa and Krista are amazing! We did a Book of Mormon study with Melissa on Wednesday. We talked about the vision Nephi had at the beginning of the Book. He sees the colonization of the America's, wars and the eventual Restoration of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! It was an amazing lesson. We also met with them on Sunday! We reviewed their baptismal date. They still need to come to church more consistently and follow the Word of Wisdom so we said that if they really put in the effort each day they could be baptized at the beginning of July. It will be a lot of work but if they put their trust in Heavenly Father, and do all they can, then it will happen!

Meeting with Melissa and Krista on Sunday was a huge miracle! Krista's boyfriend was wanting to come to church so we were needing to find a ride for five of them. We did all we could on Saturday to find a ride for them. Sunday morning Sister Barnett said she could take them! But we didn't think she knew there were five people. So, we said a prayer asking Heavenly Father to help us. We all felt peace afterwards, like we had done all we could and now we needed to let God work His miracle. Melissa and Krista ended up not coming to church, neith did Krista's boyfriend or sons. We were so confused! It was important for them to come so they could be ready for baptism but also so that we could teach a lesson afterwards! But, Sister Barnett invited us over for cobbler and said to come in the afternoon. She lives very close to Melissa and Krista! So we messaged and asked them if we could stop by later in the day since we would be in the area. So, they didn't make it to church but we were still able to have a lesson with them!! Miracles happen!!

Saturday was a busy day. We had lunch with Sister Jackson and Sister Johnson, two sweet ladies in the ward. Afterwards, Sister Jackson took us to some of her neighbors homes and we visited all together! She is such a good missionary! We aren't able to come down to her area very often because of how far away it is from where we live in Beckley. But! She is doing the work for us down there! Just remember, everyone, you can be missionaries too! You don't need a tag with your name and Jesus Christ written on it! You can be a missionary today by how you act and respond to others. Share your testimony, too!!!

Also, HAPPY FATHERS DAY! I have the greatest dad in the world. He is so amazing and kind. I have learned so much from him, from how to do a cart wheel to mulching and digging around trees. I love him so much and am so grateful he is my dad! I love you, Papa!

Song of the Week: "My Heavenly Father Loves Me" The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Childrens Song Book 228 - Sung by Inside Out Acapella. This is my most favorite song ever! I know that my earthly father loves me but, more importantly, I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father. He is always there whenever I need Him, which is always. Through prayer I can communicate with Him. I know He is there and I know He loves me. If you would like to learn more about how Heavenly Father loves all of us, message me! I would love to tell you all about it!

Have a lovely week! Talk to y'all next Monday!
