What a week here in West Virginia! On Tuesday we met Jessica! She is a sweet, young mom who invited us right in! We talked to her about the Book of Mormon and she accepted a copy!! It was so amazing!! We are going back this Wednesday!! We also met Marissa! She is also a young mom! We talked with her about the Book of Mormon as well and she accepted a copy!! But!! Marissa is friends with a family in the ward, which is so amazing! She said she was a little curious about what they believed, so we are excited to talk more with her!! We will be meeting with her on Wednesday, too!! Misty is doing good! We were not able to meet with her this week because her phone wasn't working. We stopped by yesterday to see if she was home but she wasn't. Although! Her friend Eric was there and we were able to talk with him for a little bit! He has a desire to know God but he doesn't think he does, so Sister Smith and I are slowly helping him find that desire!! It is incredible to see how peop...

"A Great Work" - March 21, 2022

Hello family and friends!!! What a great week to be a missionary!  We had Zone Conference on Tuesday! It was up in Charleston. President and Sister Newman gave us a cool analogy with a lighthouse and how we, as missionaries, are the light guiding people safely to the harbor, or our Heavenly Home with Heavenly Father. It was awesome! The Zone Leadership; Elder Adams, Elder Rausch, Sister Johansen and Sister Evans, taught about the importance of making a new converts baptism a special and memorable event. We want them to remember the event so that they are always able to look back on it! It made me so excited about doing this great work for the Lord! I'm so grateful I am here in West Virginia! Our friend Misty is doing amazing! We felt prompted to call her on Monday and I'm so grateful we did! She told us what's been happening in her life and we asked if she would like a Priesthood Blessing. She said yes, so on Tuesday the Elders in our district gave her one. It was s...

Hello everyone! On Tuesday, Thursday and Friday we met with our friend Curtis! He is so awesome! His baptism is scheduled for next Wednesday but Sister Smith and I are planning to move it back. He is working on not smoking and vaping. He says he will stop but always has an excuse of why he can't. But! We keep praying for him! He has a strong desire to be baptized because he knows how important it is. Hopefully, that desire is what will help him see the importance of not smoking and vaping and following God's Commandment of the Word of Wisdom. We had a great lesson with our friend Misty on Thursday! She has had a hard life. When we came up to her door she was so relieved to see us! She can feel a difference when we are there which is so incredible to hear someone say! It reminds me of how important this work is! People can see a difference in us! We were able to read Mosiah 27 with Misty and talk about how Alma the Younger had a change of heart. We also were able to talk about ...

"Alright, everyone. We have landed safely in Beckley, WV. Thank you for flying with us today!" Yup! I'm in Beckley!!! I absolutely love it! The people are so kind and amazing. Last Monday we got to go to Huntington with the West family! The Huntington 2 and Marshall Elders all joined us! We went to a place called the Red Caboose. It was a cute little shop! We walked around some of the other outside shops. They had a huge train engine outside the store so we all got on it and took pictures and everything! Afterwards we walked across the street to the Ohio River! It was soooo high!!! But it was also sooo beautiful! I loved it! On Tuesday I found out I would be transferring to Beckley! It is another social media area in the mission! I'm now in charge of the Charleston Zone Facebook Page instead of the Huntington Zone Page. It's fun being able to do missionary work on social media!!  I said goodbye to most of the people in Barboursville on Sunday. It was very bitters...
