"A Great Work" - March 21, 2022
Hello family and friends!!!
What a great week to be a missionary!
We had Zone Conference on Tuesday! It was up in Charleston. President and Sister Newman gave us a cool analogy with a lighthouse and how we, as missionaries, are the light guiding people safely to the harbor, or our Heavenly Home with Heavenly Father. It was awesome! The Zone Leadership; Elder Adams, Elder Rausch, Sister Johansen and Sister Evans, taught about the importance of making a new converts baptism a special and memorable event. We want them to remember the event so that they are always able to look back on it! It made me so excited about doing this great work for the Lord! I'm so grateful I am here in West Virginia!
Our friend Misty is doing amazing! We felt prompted to call her on Monday and I'm so grateful we did! She told us what's been happening in her life and we asked if she would like a Priesthood Blessing. She said yes, so on Tuesday the Elders in our district gave her one. It was so powerful. Elder Allred gave her the blessing and said she would be healed. Wow! Afterwards, Misty said she was already feeling better! And throughout the past week she continued to get better! What a miracle! I know Heavenly Father is there and that He will bless us if we just ask Him! BUT! The bestest part of the week was Misty coming to church! After weeks of having troubles and trials come she finally was able to make it! ANNNNNDDDD!! She brought four other people with her!!! Her two sons, her friend and her friends son! It was so wonderful!!!! Again, I know that Heavenly Father will bless us if we just ask - and wait patiently for when it is His timing. We are meeting with Misty on Friday, this week! Please keep her and her family and friends in your prayers!
We had a district goal this past week to tract down a new street each day! Sister Smith and I had a lot of fun doing it and we found some very beautiful places here in Beckley! As a missionary, I am doing things I never thought I would but I am so grateful for all the opportunities I have had! They have taught me a lot and have helped me to grow. Tracting isn't always easy but it is always worth it. Whether the people we talk to are interested or not I know that we are helping them come closer to Christ, even if it's just a slow shuffle towards Him. Haha!! This work is the best!
Song of the Week: "A Great Work" by Nik Day, EFY 2021. I love the chorus of this song! Missionary work is a great work. Yes, it's hard. But, yes, it is worth it. The people you meet, the experiences you have are all part of Heavenly Father's plan for all of us! Being able to teach people about Jesus Christ's Restored Church and seeing how it blesses them is so exciting! I would like to encourage you all to share your testimony of Jesus Christ with someone this week. Then email me about how it goes! If you have questions please reach out to me! I would love to answer any that you may have!
Have a great week everyone! Talk to y'all next Monday!
