"Don't You Know"- Doctrine and Covenants 58:2-5 - March 13, 2023
Hello Family and Friends!!!
What a wonderful and busy week it has been!!!
We had MLC on Wednesday! We are supposed to have it monthly, so every second Wednesday of the month we have it! Driving to Charleston was exciting!! It's a long drive but Sister Lofgreen and I had some fun conversations and listened to some good talks! MLC was so wonderful! We talked about extending commitments to our friends and how we fulfill our purpose as missionaries. We have to be converted to Christ if we are to help others do the same. It was a powerful meeting!!
We visited lots of people this week!! Sister Lofgreen and I are still figuring out who people are, haha! We enjoy it though! We have met some wonderful people! On Thursday we visited Sister Eanes! She is a sweet lady. We laughed a lot and shared some funny stories with each other. What a happy lady!!
We had district council on Friday!! It was my last one. The Spanish elders had decorated the Relief Society room with black streamers and balloons, haha!! It was a "funeral" for me because I'm "dying" this next Thursday (when a missionary goes home it's called dying, haha). We had a wonderful Spirit-filled meeting. Each of us shared our favorite picture of Christ and explained why it was our favorite. It was just so wonderful!! There are some amazing and beautiful pictures of Jesus Christ.
Later that day we met with two sweet families from the ward. The Jarretts and the Isaac's! At the Jarrett's home we talked about Joseph Smith, his vision and how the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth! Even though their kids are young and it was a little crazy, the Spirit was still felt. At the Isaac's we talked about testimonies. We read some of Alma 32 with them and discussed how they help their seeds of faith grow.
We met up with the Martinsville 2 sisters on Saturday, Sister Stewart and Sister Pellitier! We did some finding with them in their area and talked a lot!! They are amazing sisters!! I love them so much!! On the way home, Sister Lofgreen and I stopped at a cute little restaurant called Chicken Salad Chick. They had some delicious chicken salad!!! It was fun!
The elders, Sister Lofgreen and I sang in Sacrament meeting yesterday! We sang "I Believe in Christ." Our ward mission leader, Brother Hardinf, played the piano! He is amazing! He plays by ear so he didn't have sheet music, he jut played! So cool!! I know the Holy Ghost was there as we sang. That evening we had dinner and a lesson with the Perkins family! They told us their conversion stories and it was amazing! Seeing and hearing about how the gospel has blessed their lives was amazing! I love them!
Song of the Week: "Don't You Know" by Michael McLean. I have learned so much over the past 18 months. It's hard to put into words. I have been molded, refined and changed, all through Jesus Christ. He has made me who I am now. I love Him! Doctrine and Covenants 58:2-5 is powerful! Jesus Christ can make a whole lot more out of my life than I ever could. These past few months have been a sacrifice but the blessings have been so much greater than the cost. I know He lives!!! Trust in Him, His timing and His Love.
I hope you all have a fantastic week! Talk to y'all next Monday!
Love,
Sister Sariah Francis
