"I Love to See the Temple" - 3 Nephi 11:10-11 - February 20, 2023

 Hello everybody!!!

It was a crazy week here in Roanoke! We had exchanges with the Vinton 2 sisters on Tuesday! It was amazing! I was with Sister Hyde here in Roanoke. Sister Lofgreen went to Vinton with Sister Blake! Because it was Valentine's day we cut out lots of paper hearts and heart attacked some of our friends doors! We also brought them cookies! It was wonderful. We exchanged back later that evening.

Wednesday we had an incredible lesson with the elders friend Beth! We had somehow gotten her number and messaged her about baptism. She responded to our text a few days later and was interested! We then found out the elders were already teaching her! She is on date for March 11th. Please keep Beth in your prayers! She wanted to have Sister Lofgreen and I come over for a lesson so we did! We shared 3 Nephi 11 with her and talked about how the people were at the temple when the Savior came. We shared the Washington DC temple open house video with her and discussed the importance of the temple. I am so very grateful for the covenants we make inside those beautiful buildings. They truly are the Lord's house. I also know that families are united for eternity inside of them. I know I will be with my family for forever!

Later that evening we had a wonderful dinner with the Frames! They are a sweet older couple from the ward! They recently served a senior mission and we had a great conversation about serving the Lord as full time missionaries and preparing to go home. They asked me why I chose to serve a mission. I thought for a minute and told them that in the beginning I was serving because I wanted to share the Joy I have found in the gospel of Jesus Christ with others! But recently it has been because I want others to be with their families for forever. As missionaries we want people to be baptized by the proper authority for the remission of their sins. But, that isn't the end goal. The end goal is the temple. We want them to go to the temple to further their conversion to Jesus Christ and to bind their own families together for eternity. It was an amazing evening with the Frame family!!

We had more wonderful lessons with other members throughout the rest of the week. We met with one of the YSA members who currently goes to one of the Universities around Roanoke! We had a fun visit about missions with her, too! She got back a little bit ago from her own mission and she shared some cool experiences with Sister Lofgreen and I!

On Saturday we had exchanges with the Salem sisters! They are so good!! I was with Sister Johnson in Salem and Sister Lofgreen stayed in Roanoke with Sister Larsen! We had a fun day. We taught one of their young friends the Plan of Salvation! I love sharing that message with people! It's powerful. We had a member meal with a sweet family. Heavenly Father is so aware of each and every one of us. I know He is.

Song of the Week: "I Love to See the Temple" Children's Songbook 95. As I've talked about earlier in this email, I am so grateful for temples. They are beautiful on the outside and the inside. They make me feel beautiful on the outside and the inside. The Spirit that is present in each one is always so powerful. No matter where in the world you may be each temple you see functions the same. Each one provides worthy members the opportunity to make additional covenants with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Families are also bound together forever in temples!! What amazing blessings God has given us through temples! The scripture this week is from 3 Nephi 11:10-11. These two verses contain so much! It is when Jesus Christ is appearing to the Nephites at the temple. He has completed the Atonement, He has accomplished the will of the Father. I love these verses because of how much love you can feel from Christ as you read them. The Nephites have been through so much and yet they have gathered at the temple. At the temple is where Christ appears to them. We must also go to the temple! We must follow the Nephites example and be at the temple. That is were we will truly be prepared for when the Savior comes again.

I hope you all have a joyful week! Talk to y'all next Monday!

Love,
 Sister Sariah Francis
