"Don't Forget Where You Belong" - Alma 37:45 - February 13, 2023

Everybody!!! It's been a good a little while, haha!

These past few weeks have been crazy!! We had transfers! Leaving Fairmont was very bittersweet. I love that cute little city with my whole heart! So many amazing people and I'm so glad I could meet them.

Here we are in Roanoke, Virginia!!! It has been a very wild time! My new companion is Sister Lofgreen! She is the coolest! We get a long so good! Each day is full of fun, laughter and hard work! We whitewashed into the area so neither of us really have a clue about what's going on, haha! Each Day we get up and go to work!

Roanoke is a huge city! It's the biggest city in our mission. It's also very different from West Virginia. It feels flat to me and there are actually huge mountains here! I've grown so used to seeing rolling hills of green broccoli that to see flat ground is a little weird.

The ward is amazing!!! It's a huge family ward and the average age is about 30 instead of 85! We have had so many member meals! The Lord is truly blessing us!

We have a couple of friends we are teaching but we have only met one of them! His name is Chris. He was given a Book ot Mormon while on vacation a few years ago. Him and His wife have also visited Temple Square a couple of times while passing through Utah! He is wanting to learn more about who we are and what w believe! We had a wonderful lesson with him this past Wednesday! A couple from the ward joined us! We talked about the Plan of Salvation! It was so good! We invited him to be baptized but he kinda beat around the bush and then started telling us a story from when he was in the military, haha! People out here love to talk!!

Sister Lofgreen and I also cover the YSA ward!! We split it with the elders. So, yesterday we attended there! It was definitely different being with kids my own age who aren't other missionaries in the mission! We had a blast, though, and I'm excited to conitnue getting to know all of them!

We had a cool miracle at the beginning of the transfer! We got in contact with a man the Sisters used to be teaching! He's from Oregan and was taking the lessons there! He really wanted to come to church so we found him a ride and he came!! It was so cool! Pur first Sunday in Roanoke and one of our friends came to church! The elders are now talking woth him because he actually lives in their area, haha!

Sister Lofgreen and I are still learning and figuring out the area. We know the Lord is on our side!! He is definitely there helping us through it all!

Song of the Week: "Don't Forget Where You Belong" by One Direction. Here me out, this life is not the beginning and it's not the end! We lived with Heavenly Father before this life and we know we can live woth Him again! Jesus Christ has made this all possible. He gave His life for us because He loves us! We cannot forget our divine identity. That is who we are! Alma 37:45 is the scripture this week! We have been given a direction, or map, of how to get back to our Heavenly Home. It is found in the Fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! It's a simple path if we walk it with Jesus Christ. Walk with Christ this week! True joy comes from living His gospel.

I hope you all have a joyful week! Remember who you are. Talk to y'all next Monday!

Love,
 Sister Sariah Francis
