"Trust With All Your Heart" - Alma 28:14 - January 23, 2023
Everybody!!!!
Oh it was a lovely week!!
We had tri-zone conference part 2 this past Tuesday! It was wonderful!! We taught a break out room with the Zone Leaders. We were assigned to talk about Nephi building a ship and how we can exercise faith like he did. President and Sister Lindahl talked about diligence. Sister Lindahl said that when we are diligent our joy in the work increases (paraphrased). That is so true!! When we are obedient and do our very best we find joy!! Being diligent in our efforts is the thing to do! It will bring forever joy. I know I'm not perfect, I'm far from being a perfect missionary but that doesn't mean I can't be diligent and do my best. The Savior will make up the difference, how ever much it may be.
The coolest thing happened on Wednesday!! A member from the ward, Sistet Etzi, always wanted to serve a mission but had joined the church after she had passed the age requirement. So, on Wednesday she came knocking with us!! We stopped by a man we had met about a week ago. His name is Robbie. His wife and son had recently passed away from a medical condition. He talked to us a little about it. He also told us about his experience in the Army. Sister Etzi was able to relate and connect with him through these things!! It was so cool to see that Heavenly Father knew she could provide empathy and comfort, better than Sister Nelson or I could have. We don't always understand why specific things happen in our lives but as we continue to trust and be patient we begin to see the bigger picture. We read a chapter from the Book of Mormon with Robbie and the Spirit flooded the room. It was so powerful!! Please pray for Robbie!!
We met with our new friend Kevin! We met him while knocking a couple weeks ago. We also met with Donald and Ashley!! Please pray for all three of them!
Saturday was amazing! We had a church tour scheduled with Mary! The forecast was supposed to be snow. BUT! Our prayers were answered and it was beautiful outside!! It was still cloudy but we were able to meet!! We had invited Sister Church, and older member from the ward, to join us so she could fellowship Mary. We'll, the Lord is certainly in charge of His work because MARY AND SISTER CHURCH KNOW EACH OTHER!!! They play bingo at the senior center every Wednesday! WHAT?! We were truly inspired to have Sister Church come. She immediately took Mary under her wing and was explaining things about the gospel and everything. Mary also came to church on Sunday!! Sister Church saved her a seat and sat by her and talked to her, introduced her to her friends and everything!! It was incredible. I wish you could all be here!! I do my best to explain how wonderful it is but words don't give it justice. Mary loved church. We were also able to get a large print Book of Mormon so she can see it better! Thst was a miracle, too. I love Mary and I know the Lord does, too.
Song of the Week: "Trust With All Your Heart" EFY Theme 2019. Trust and have faith. That's what missionary work is. Lots of trusting in the Lord and having faith that He will be with you and guide you. I'm still learning how to do this 17 months later but I know it works. I'm not perfect at it but through diligent efforts I can become better. Alma 28:14 is a powerful scripture. We all have the great call to be diligent laborers in the vineyard of the Lord. It's everywhere around us!! You don't have to have a badge to be sharing the gospel. Be diligent and trust in the Lord. Open your mouth and He will fill it with the words that other need to hear. I know He will!!!
I hope you all have a lovely week! Talk to y'all next Monday!!!
Love,
Sister Sariah Francis
