"I Will Walk With Jesus" - Mosiah 23:21-22 - November 28, 2022
Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!! Welcome to a week in the life of Sister Francis.
Zone conference was this week!!! Our transfer focus is Building Christlike Attributes through Our Missionary Purpose. We are focusing on chapters 1 and 6 from Preach My Gospel! I got to teach one of the breakout rooms again! I had the missionaries do some pondering and studying. It was super awesome! I love being able to teach!
We had a great lesson with our friend Matt this week! He's on date for baptism!!!! It was Dec 11th but he didn't come to church so we will be reevaluating it with him when we meet again. But! The lesson we did have was so good! Sister Fidler joined us! We taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While discussing the Gift of the Holy Ghost the Spirit was sooo strong! There were a couple tears in Matt's eyes, so sweet! We testified of how the Holy Ghost can comfort, guide, warn and testify of truth. It was powerful. Later that evening we met with the Henderson Family!! They have five cute little kids! Again, the Spirit was so strong as we testified to them, this time on the power of prayer. We invited them to say family prayer each night! We told the kids to remind their parents and they were super excited to!! Sister Henderson was very grateful we had come. As a missionary you find yourself in lots of different situations. But, there is always a reason for everything. I know we needed to be there that night.
Thanksgiving Thursday was incredible!!! We started out with a Turkey Bowl! It was us, the Fairmont Elders, Mannington Elders and 3 members of the ward! It was sooo much fun! We then stopped by the store to buy some pepperoni and to see our friend Ruth! We met her while knocking on Wednesday! She said she had watched a couple of the Book of Mormon videos and started reading!!! It was a Thanksgiving miracle! We came home, made rolls and pepperoni rolls and did our studies. At 3 we had dinner with the Nkwacha family! They had sooo many people over! It was awesome! We shared a message on the Atonement of Jesus Christ and how we should always be giving thanks for Christ Sacrifice for us. We then headed over to Sister Hurseys and had a second Thanksgiving! She is so amazing!! Three things I am grateful for this year are the Gospel of Jesus Christ, my wonderful family and this opportunity I have to be serving Jesus Christ full time!!
We had exchanges on Friday with the YSA sisters!!!! I was with Sister McLendon here in Fairmont!! We did some knocking and had a lesson with Donald and Ashley! It was amazing! We invited Donald to be baptized but he said not yet. He still wants to learn. We invited him to read Moroni and to say the closing prayer! He did!! It was wonderful. The Spirit was so strong!
Saturday and Sunday were good days! We met up with Ruth again and gave her a physical copy for the Book of Mormon. She is wonderful! Please keep her in your prayers!
Song of the Week: "I Will Walk With Jesus" Primary Children's Song. On Sunday Sister Livingston and I joined Primary to help lead the songs during singing time. It was the best!!! This song is one of the ones they are working on for their Primary program. It goes right along with this week. Jesus Christ walks with us so we should choose to walk with Him. Sometimes as a missionary it's cool to imagine Him walking and knocking on doors with us. I chose Mosiah 23:21-22 to go along with this song. I memorized these scriptures before coming out and recently read them again for my scripture study. We all go through trials and tests in life. Our patience and faith is tested to see if we will patiently put our faith in the Lord. We do that by walking with Him, staying close to His side, especially during the hard times. I love Jesus Christ! I'm so grateful to know that I can walk beside Him and He will walk beside me.
I hope you all have a wonderful week! Talk to y'all next Monday!!!
Love,
Sister Sariah Francis
