"Big or Small" - November 14, 2022
Well, hello family and friends! Welcome, welcome to my week.
First, transfers were this Thursday and Sister Livingston and I are staying together!! Wahoo!!!! It will be the best!!! This officially makes Sister Livingston the companion I've been with the longest! I'm excited for the things we will accomplish these next five weeks!
Tuesday we had the opportunity to do some service for a sweet lady in the ward. We helped her sweep, mop and vacuum some rooms in her home. It was so much fun!! We talked and laughed the entire time. Afterward, Sister Livingston and I had planned to knock some of the doors around her. The first door we knocked was a nice girl named Jordan! She had a couple of minutes so we testified of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and gave her a pamphlet. It was wonderful! A couple doors later we met Rick! He let us in and we began sharing the Restoration. About halfway through he asked us some questions about our other beliefs! We ended with giving him a copy of the Book of Mormon and he accepted our invitation to read it! We are super excited to see where this will lead him!
We met with Donald and Ashley! We reviewed the principle of following the prophet. It was a great lesson!! Please continue praying for them, specifically that Donald will recognize the Spirit in his life.
On Thursday we had a wonderful lesson with our new friend Tammy! We taught her the Plan of Salvation because of recent events in her life. It was so good! We talked about the Book of Mormon with her, too! We told her that reading it would bring peace into her life and help her find comfort during this hard time. We all felt uplifted!! Well, a few days later she messaged us and said she doesn't want us coming by anymore. We aren't sure what happened but please keep her in your prayers! Some things take time.
This week was full of finding!! We did some knocking on Friday and met a cool guy named Jerry. We talked for a while about some experiences he's had. This led to us teaching the Restoration to Him. It was powerful, probably one of the most Spirit led doorstep lessons I've taught. The Spirit was so strong and Sister Livingston and I testified of the Book of Mormon. Jerry accepted a copy and we will be calling him tonight to read with him!! Miracles!
We had a fun relief society activity this Saturday! It was called Christmas in November. We did some Christmas crafts and had a delicious lunch. It was a wonderful time getting to know some of the other ladies in the ward!! I love being here in Fairmont with all these amazing people!
This week I've focused a lot on the life of Jesus Christ and His Atonement. It's all so glorious! Part of my study has included reading Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage. The Savior still had struggles here in life. Satan still tempted Him. However, He overcame these different things and because He overcame them I can, too. One of my favorite scriptures is in John 16:33. I came across this verse back in high school and it gave me so much hope. It still gives me hope! Just as Christ overcame this world, we can too! Through His Atoning sacrifice we can be made clean! We can try again.
Song of the Week: "Big or Small" 2018 Youth Song. It doesn't matter how big or small our mistakes may be. Jesus Christ "overcame it all," as the song says. I'm grateful for Jesus Christ and all that He has done for me. I may not understand it all now but I'll do my best to continue growing my knowledge and testimony of Him.
I hope you all have a wonderful week! Talk to y'all next Monday!
Love,
