"Abide With Me; 'Tis Eventide" - October 10, 2022

 Hello family and friends! Kinda crazy it's already been another week!

Sister Livingston loves sushi. We have been trying to get sushi for the last 4 weeks. Well, the opportunity arose on Tuesday and we took it!! We arrived home at our apartment around 5:15ish, both hungry for some dinner! A random car was parked outside and we both had the thought that someone was in our apartment, but we didn't say anything to each other because that's an absurd thought to have! Well, there was someone in our apartment. We walked up the stairs and the door was open and a handy man was on the floor looking at our heaters! Sister Livingston and I both just looked at each other,  super confused. We tried to talk to him and ask him what was going on but he just mumbled some answers and ignored us. Thankfully we had to leave that evening to drive to Charleston for MLC, so we grabbed our suitcases and left. We were still hungry, of course, so we stopped at a Japanese restaurant on the way to Charleston and got sushi!! Also, our heaters are still broken, but only the ones in the kitchen and living room are... so our bedroom and study room are nice and toasty, but we freeze in the kitchen and living room, haha!! Oh and the handy man works for the apartment complex so don't worry!! It wasn't just a random guy.

MLC was so amazing!! We had a wonderful time with the other missionaries and President and Sister Lindahl! I'm so grateful I have this chance to serve with so many amazing missionaries!! It's all so wonderful!

We had a great and kinda chaotic lesson with Ashley and Donald this week!! It was so good! We haven't met with them in a while and we were finally able to schedule something! Donald said he had watched like 20 minutes of general conference! That was cool! He also asked about when church was, again! We talked about faith with them this week and building our testimonies. It went well but their little girl was being distracting, haha! Well, on Sunday Donald came to church!! He brought his two daughters with him! Ashley had some previous commitments to something else so she wasn't able to come. Sister Livingston and I are super excited for their family though!! We are meeting again on Tuesday them! Please continue to pray for their family!

Megan and her family are doing great! We had a great lesson on building our testimonies! Her kids are so cute! They ask so many questions and give great answers to the questions we ask them! They love learning!! We invited them to church but their car has been having some problems. A member in the ward said he would be willing to look at it! Hopefully, they will be able to attend soon!

We met a new friend this week named John! He is going through some hard times. We knocked into him and shared a quick scripture and set up a time to come back. We were a little skeptical about it all but we asked some members to come with us and it turned out great! John and the members became instant friends! We had an amazing Restoration lesson and he invited himself to church!! And then he came!! He only stayed for sacrament meeting but it was so exciting to have him there! He also knows one of the members in the ward! That was cool to find out!

Oh my goodness! On Monday, Sister Livingston and I had the opportunity to go to an airplane hanger!! A member in the ward is a pilot and she showed us where she works! It's was sooo cool!!!!

Song of the Week: "Abide With Me; 'Tis Eventide" Hymn 165. I LOVE this Hymn! What an inspiring song. I have trouble clearing my mind at night so I can fall asleep. Recently, I've been singing this song in my head and it helps so much! It brings me peace and comfort. I love the chorus! It states,
"O Savior, stay this night with me;
Behold, ’tis eventide.
O Savior, stay this night with me;
Behold, ’tis eventide."
I love that! It connects so well to one of my favorite scriptures, Alma 37:37,
"Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day."
We should always ask the Lord to be with us and as we do we will see Him more in our lives! As we see Him more in our lives, we will give thanks for the Blessings He gives us. I'm so grateful to know the Jesus Christ is there for me! Always! He is my Savior and your Savior. He loves you!

I hope you all have a glorious week! Talk to y'all next Monday!

Love,
 Sister Sariah Francis
