"If the Savior Stood Beside Me" - September 26, 2022
Well, hello everybody!!
This week was great, great, great!!
We met with our friend Terry this week!! The Hansen's came and joined us!! We shared the Restoration with him. It was so amazing! Brother Hansen was a big help!! He would help clarify things and he asked some great questions to help Terry understand more!! We invited him to read the Book of Mormon and to come to church with us!! Sister Livingston and I went by Sunay morning, before church, and knocked on his door! He didn't answer, though. So, sadly he didn't come to church but we will be meeting with him again soon!
We had an awesome lesson with a member named Mariah! She is so cool! We talked about the Atonement of Jesus Christ with her. This lead to a discussion on how He helps us to become Spiritually clean. It was so awesome! We invited her to attend church this week and to really see how Jesus Christ is in her life. It was a very Spirit led lesson! She wasn't able to make it to church this week but we are hoping to talk woth her again soon!
We met sooo many knew friends this week!! It was absolutely crazy!!! The first friends we met were a mom and daughter, Ronda and Katie! Ronda's son, Cody, is a member! That's how we began teaching them! We shared the Plan of Salvation with them. Ronda had some amazing questions about the Spirit World and how it all works! Sister Livingston and I were able to testify to them of the truthfulness of this message! It was so wonderful!! Later that day we stopped by a referrals home from the Fidler family! Amanda and Zach! They have 2 kids but we didn't meet them. We talked with Amanda and Zach for a little bit and and Zach had to finish mowing the lawn, haha! We taught Amanda the Restoration message and she loved it!! She was so excited about the Book of Mormon! She asked if she could order it off of Amazon, haha! We gave her a copy of the Book and invited her to read it. She is so amazing!! We are going back later today to share more with her and hopefully Zach this time!
On Thursday we had some wonderful member meals!! For lunch we met with the Hendersons! They are a sweet older couple! Sister Henderson made us some delicious pasta, broccoli, mashed potatoes and applesauce! Oh man, probably one of the best meals I've had on my mission!! We shared a message on giving our whole souls to Christ. Brother and Sister Henderson had some amazing insights from their many years of experience here on earth! One thing Sister Henderson said that really stuck out to me was that we have to just do what we know is right. That is how we give our whole souls to Christ, through doing even just the smallest and simplest right things. We shared the scripture Omni 1:26 with them. What a powerful verse!!
Later that day we met with the Soles! Brother and Sister Soles live in a beautiful, old farmhouse! It was amazing!! We had another delicious meal with them!! Sister Soles is a really good cook!! We asked about their conversion stories. The Spirit was so strong as they shared with us how they had come to know that these things are true. It took Brother Soles a lot longer than Sister Soles. We each are on our own paths. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know us perfectly and they knwo how to help us. We don't always know why we meet people when and where we do but it all has to do with God's plan for us. That's how it worked with Brother and Sister Soles!!
Our last district council of the transfer was on Friday! We signed each other's mission journals and things. This has been an amazing district and I'm going to miss them! We don't find out anything about transfers until Tuesday evening, though, so we aren't sure who is leaving and who will be staying! I'm hoping Sister Livingston and I will have another transfer together but it's all up to the Lord!!
Saturday was crazy!! We had a lesson scheduled woth a family we had met last week! We went by and they were super excited to see us!! There's a mom, Megan, and her three kids; Erica, Marslane (?), and Jalil. We shared the message of the Restoration with them and they asked some great questions!! Megan was very excited about reading the Book of Mormon. She had never heard of it and asked if it went along with the Apocrypha. We were able ti testify to her that the Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ, that it came from people who lived in ancient America! I'm so grateful for the knowledge that I have of the Book of Mormon. It's amazing to see it begin to help change others lives! Please keep this family in your prayers!!
Tony hasn't really been responding to us lately and he didn't make it to church. Please continue to pray for him!! His baptism is in about a month!
Song of the week: "If the Savior Stood Beside Me" Children's Song by Sally Deford. I've been reflecting on this song a lot this past week. It has brought me a lot of comfort knowing that Jesus Christ is there. Even though I can't see Him, I know He loves me. Its the same with Heavenly Father. I can't see Him but I know He is there. I'm grateful for the knowledge I have of our Savior Jesus Christ and that I can share this knowledge with others! It is such a beautiful message!! And I get ti share it in a beautiful place!
I hope you all have a beautiful week! And happy Fall!! Talk to y'all next Monday!
Love,
