Hi family and friends!! It has been an absolutely amazing week here in the WVCM! First, transfers were on Thursday!! Sister Wilkins and I drove to Charleston and picked up our new companion, Sister Spaeth! She is the best!!! We have already laughed so much, made inside jokes and just had a great time!! I am VERY excited for this transfer!! Also, both Sister Spaeth and Sister Wilkins are on their last transfer!! It is so crazy! Time flies as a missionary!! These things don't last forever, so we gotta enjoy every moment! A couple of quick thoughts - I've thought a lot about time this week. I recently hit my "halfway" mark as a missionary. I was thinking about what I have accomplished for the Lord as His missionary. Am I wasting my time? Or am I doing good here? The quote from Mr. Lizard in the live-action Cinderella kept coming to my mind. "Enjoy it while it lasts." I'm just a girl here in West Virginia, but Heavenly Father is helping me become so much m...

Hello, hello everyone! Oh, what a week! We have transfers this Thursday and I will be staying in Beckley with Sister Wilkins! However, we are getting a third companion! Hopefully we really are because that's what they told me last transfer when Sister Smith left but we ended up just getting Sister Wilkins! I guess we will see! This week was spiritually challenging. At the beginning of the week I was doubting everything. Was this really what Heavenly Father needed me to be doing? I decided I would continue forward. If Heavenly Father needed me doing something else then I'd find out the hard way. Well, during personal study on Thursday morning I was reading through some missionary materials and came across some quotes about really serving a mission and not missing out on what's happening! They also talked about Heavenly Father having a plan for us. That's when it all came together. Of course I needed to be a missionary! This is the Lord's work! Satan doesn't want...

Hello family and friends! It has been quite a week here in Beckley. We had planned to go to service at 10 am Tuesday morning. As we were pulling out our calendar alarms went off! We had forgotten we had a mission-wide training that morning! We called Sister D, who we do service for, and canceled it for the day. We are glad our alarms went off because the training was amazing! It was all about how to better our teaching!  We met up with our friend Brandi that afternoon. We met at a cute little restaurant. While we were talking a lady sitting at the table next to us interrupted and asked if she could give some thoughts, too! We talked about religion for a little while and my companion and I were able to share the Book of Mormon with her and a pamphlet on the Restoration! It was so cool! We all have the same basic beliefs! There are more similarities than differences! That evening we had a lesson with Keishod! Oh it was so awesome!! We talked about the Word of Wisdom, a commandme...

Welcome everyone to this week's email! Oh what a week! Tuesday and Wednesday were low days here in Beckley. Nothing out of the ordinary happened. It's kinda funny because for missionaries Monday is our "day off." That's when we do our laundry, grocery shopping and things like that. So, Tuesday can sometimes feel like a Monday! Well, that's how this weeks Tuesday and Wednesday felt. So, Thursday morning I decided it needed to change. Our circumstances may not change but our attitudes sure can! This made Thursday so much better!! And the rest of the week.  Thursday was great, as I said. We worked on our zone facebook page for a bit and went out knocking. We met some nice people. We had a wonderful lesson with a family in the ward and then did lots of calling! In all honesty, it was a very typical missionary day. BUT because we had a better attitude it was a great typical day!! We had exchanges with the Charleston Sisters on Friday! After district council, Sist...
