I Know That My Redeemer Lives - Monday April 18, 2022
Happy Easter, everyone!! Jesus Christ lives!
So many great things this week!!
Tuesday and Wednesday were filled with visiting members so Sister Smith could say goodbye to them. It was sad!! Although, we did go down to Odd, West Virginia! Yes, it really is called that. And there's a road there called Devils Backbone Road. Theres some crazy things here, haha!! While we were there Google Maps started taking us down a very small and sketchy 4 wheeler track/road. We thought it might turn out ok so we kept driving. There were these huge, overgrown thorny bushes on both sides of the car! Eventually we decided the road wasn't going to get better... it was just going to get worse. So, we turned around and found a different way to the place we were trying to go! We were scared the car was going to be all scratched up from driving past all the thorny bushes but it's all good!! We love West Virginia!
The work here in Beckley is a bit slow at the moment. We have either dropped or been dropped by most of our friends this week. But! We keep pushing forward! Andrew didn't have his intereview on Thursday because he didn't make it the whole week without smoking. Please pray for him! He is so close to baptism! He just needs to take the last step. My companion and I know that with the Lords help he will make it there!!
On Thursday we had transfers! Sister Smith and I drove up to Charleston to drop her off and pick up my new companion, Sister Wilkins!! Yup! I only got one comp! So I am still in a duo! Sister Wilkins is from California and has been out for 15 months, so this is her second to last transfer! So crazy!! I also got to see my past companions on Thursday! Sister Humphries and Sister Morales!! And my trainor Sister George!! I also saw my MTC comp Sister Brady!!!!! She and Sister Wilkins were just companions! One day Sister Brady and I will be comps again!! We are sure of it! She is so amazing! I love and miss her. I also saw my high school friend, Sister Mitchell! And a few of the elders I've served around! It was so much fun!!
Easter was wonderful! We attended church and heard some amazing talks from the bishopric about the Resurrected Christ and how we are so grateful for His sacrifice but our focus is on Him living again!! Because He lives again, we will, too! We had Easter lunch with the Meador family and did an easter egg hunt with them! It was wonderful!
Song of the Week: "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" Hymn 136 LDS Hymn book. I love this song. I know that Jesus Christ lives. Yes, He suffered for my sins. Yes, He died for me. But! He also lived again, for me, so that I could live again. I am so grateful for all that My Redeemer has done, for me and you and everyone! I mostly certainly would not be out here on a mission if I did not believe this one simple truth. I know He lives!!
Have a wonderful week!!! I'll talk to y'all next Monday!
