"Still, Still, Still" - December 27, 2021
Merry, merry Christmas, everyone!
Oh what a wonderful time of the year! We had an amazing week here in Barboursville! Tuesday was pretty exciting! We were in the middle of daily planning and Sister Humphries suddenly started throwing up! So, she went back to bed. Because of this Sister Morales and I had to figure out how to do everything we needed to without leaving the apartment. We did lots of Facebook Finding! Sister Humphries was feeling a lot better by about 3 pm so we were able to get outside for a little bit! There is never a dull moment as a missionary!
Wednesday was Zone Conference!! We drove to Sissonville because it was a combined zone conference with the Charleston Zone! President and Sister Newman taught for about 45 minutes and we then went over the missionary handbook with the Assistants for about 15 minutes. The Zone Leaders and Sister Training Leaders did a live nativity! It was so beautiful! We ate lunch and then had a Christmas Party! We painted ornaments and had a gift exchange. I got a really nice water bottle! We also sang Christmas carols while some missionaries played the bells. It was a wonderful day!
Christmas Eve was wonderful!!! We had dinner with the Custers! Susan is Polish so we had a traditional Polish dinner! Sausage, pierogi, bread and butter! It was delicious! We also had green jello with pineapple and carrots in it, haha! We had a great time with the Custers! For dessert they had tons of cookies! They were also all different kinds! How yummy!
That night we decided to move our mattresses out to the living room to sleep next to our tree! It was so much fun!!! We woke up the next morning and opened some of our gifts! We had lunch with the West's and then went caroling with them and the Huntington 2 Elders! We visited with some of the widows and widowers in the ward. They were so happy! We came home from caroling and had some time so we decided to go tracting. President Newman had asked us to still find people to teach even though it was a holiday. We did our best and had some great conversations with people! That evening we had dinner with the West's! It was a wonderful way to spend Christmas Day!
We are now teaching Teisha! We met her about 2 months ago and have been staying in contact with her. We visited her on Christmas Eve and then again yesterday! We taught her most of the Plan of Salvation and then scheduled a return appointment! It was amazing!!! She is going through some hard things right now. Please pray for her!
David is doing ok. His girlfriend is in the hospital so please keep them both in your prayers this week!
Song of the Week: "Still, Still, Still" I love this song because it reminds us to slow down. Sometimes life gets busy and stressful but we need to remember to slow down and rest. This kind of happened to us this week. We were planning a busy day for Tuesday and then ended up having to change our plans. Celebrating Christmas gave us a chance to slow down and remember our Savior's birth. What a wonderful time of year to slow down!
Have a wonderful New Years! Talk to y'all next Monday!
-Sister Francis
