"Days Gone By" - November 15, 2021

 Well, hello everyone!

It has been such a wonderful week! So many miracles and blessings!
But before we get there, I have some sad news. Does everyone remember Cory? After emailing about him last week, Sister George and I received a call from him. He said he wasn't interested and that he'd appreciate it if we didn't come by anymore. After we hung up Sister George and I were both so confused. We didn't understand why that had happened! We had followed the prompting from the Spirit and thought we would see some amazing blessing happen because of it. But, none of that did happen. I emailed my MTC comp, Sister Brady, and she said something that has really stuck with me this past week. She said, "Sometimes the Spirit prompts us to do things to see if we will obey." We may not know why we are asked to do something, we may not see the outcome, but we should still listen and obey when it is to do something good. My mom gave me the same advice that evening when I was taking to her! I know that something will come of Sister George and I knocking on Cory's door, even if we can't see it right now.
Now for the miracles and blessings! On Wednesday we had a lesson with David! The Spirit was so strong! I felt inspired to invite David to be baptized on a specific date. He accepted!!! His baptism is set for December 22! We set it then because we still need to teach him more about what we believe! He also ce to church again on Sunday! He is so amazing and has such strong faith! Pray for David everyone!
On Friday, we met with Susan. We had dinner and then began the lesson! It was supposed to be only a half hour but we got into a really cool discussion with her! So, the lesson ended up being 2 hours long!! At the end we invited her to be baptized. She politely declined but it's ok! We will keep teaching her! Because the lesson was so long we didn't have time to sew, so we are going back today to sew with her!
Saturday was a wonderful day! We had interviews with President Newman! It was quite a surprise! We found out Friday night so we had to adjust our schedule a little. I've President Newman so much! I told him about Cory and how Sister George and I felt afterwards. He said the important thing is that we followed the Spirit. No matter what we should always follow prompting to do good!! It will bless us and those around us!
That night we decided to go knock on a referrals door. We saw that a member lived close by so we planned to go visit them afterward. Somehow our google maps got messed up and we ended up at the members home first! It ended up being really good, though. We had a wonderful conversation with them and got two referrals from it! Sometimes the Lord works in mysterious ways!
Song of the Week: "Days Gone By" by Hillsong Young and Free. I feel that this song really expresses how this past week has gone. The first verse says,
"It's true you were right there
I can see it in the days gone by."
In the moment we can't always see how God is working in our lives. It may take us a while to see how He has blessed us. But looking back you will always be able to see how He is working in your life. The song continues,
"I know sometimes I tried to give up
Still you caught me when I feel from high."
Heavenly Father will qualify those He calls. I have felt like giving up a lot this week, especially after what happened with Cory, but I have been called by God to be a missionary for Him. If I put faith and trust in Him, He won't let me fails. He won't give up on me no matter the amount of times I might feel like giving up. He is there watching over each and everyone of us. He knows us and He loves us.
I hope everyone has a marvelous week! Talk to y'all next Monday!
- Sister Francis
