"Today is the Day" - September 8, 2021
"Hello everyone we have safely landed at the Provo Missionary Training Center! We are about half way through our layover here. Boarding for our next flight will begin momentarily but for now please sit tight! Thank you!"
Well! What a week everyone!
On Wednesday my siblings dropped me off at the MTC! We first went to lunch and hand some AMAZING fried chicken and then took some farewell pictures at the Temple. But! While we were there someone yelled my name! I turned about and it was SISTER BRADY! My MTC companion! It was such a blessing to see her! I love her so much and it has been so much fun with her here!!
My district is so amazing!! We have all become pretty good friends and have so much fun together! We've played sand volleyball together a couple of times and it's always such a party!! We also had the opportunity to go to the temple this morning. What a special and sacred place. I love going to the temple.
Classes have been soooooo much better this week! In person is way better than online! Each day we learn so much about teaching others the Gospel of Jesus Christ! And we get to practice it too. Sister Brady and I do a fair job at it but we definitely could improve!! Also, in our branch Sister Brady and I were called as STL's (Sister Training Leaders). We have really enjoyed working with the zone leaders and everyone in our branch! Tomorrow we get to welcome the new sisters in! It will be so excited!!
A big focus of this week has been The Plan of Salvation. Heavenly Fathers plan for all of us is so amazing! He sent Jesus Christ to be our Savior, to suffer, die, and be resurrected so that when the time comes we can all return to live with Him again. I love this gospel so much and I cannot wait to share it with the people of West Virginia!
Song of the Week: "Today is the Day" by the Nashville Tribute Band. This song has been in my head since I entered this amazing place. I have always wanted to serve a mission and now it's my day! It's my turn to serve the Lord full-time. His gospel is true and I need to "open my mouth" and "shout from the rooftops" letting the truth out.
I love you all so much and I'm excited to see what this next week will bring! See ya next Tuesday!
Love,
Sister Francis
