"Because I Have Been Given Much" - September 27, 2021

Hello family and friends! No airplane intro this week because we have reached our destination!!! I have loved my first week in West Virginia! It has been filled with so many ups and downs. If anything, I know that Heavenly Father knows who I am and loves me.  We began last week with a mission wide training meeting with President and Sister Newman. It was for all the new trainees ( that's me) and their companions, which is basically half the mission. Because so many new missionaries came this past transfer if you aren't being trained or training, you are in a leadership position. Kinda crazy! The meeting was great. They went over some mission rules and basically just welcomed us all to the mission! It was a lot of fun and I'm excited to get to know my mission president and his wife better! As missionaries we get to do a lot of service! On Tuesday and Wednesday we went to the Food Bank and helped package boxes of dry goods. It made me very grateful for what I have and what...

"We have landed in West Virginia. Thank you for flying with us today!" Hello, hello everyone! I'M IN WEST VIRGINIA! It is soooo crazy and soooo cool!!! On Wednesday at 4:30 AM Sister Brady and I were bussed with other missionaries to the airport! Our flight was delayed but soon we were on our way! After a short layover in Atlanta we flew to West Virginia! When we arrived it was wet, cloudy, and rainy. But also soooooo green! It was beautiful! We spent the night in a hotel because there were so many new missionaries. The next morning we went to the Charleston church building and had a intro to the mission! Then we met our companions/trainers!!! My trainer is Sister George from Salt Lake City! She is the best!!! She has been out about 8 months. We have a third sister in our companionship named Sister Mira! She is from Alaska and is going home at the end of this transfer. It has been so much fun with all of them! My first area is Barboursville! It is such a cute little pla...

Dear Parents, We are so happy to see your missionary arrive safely in West Virginia! We look forward to getting to know them and we are thrilled to have them as part of the West Virginia Charleston Mission! They will have dinner and then they will get settled here in Charleston for the night. In the morning, they will have a brief orientation and then they will meet their new companion and go to their new area. We appreciate your love, encouragement and support as they get adjusted to their mission. Thanks for all you do! Love, President and Sister Newman ❤️

"Alrighty everyone! Our flight to West Virginia will be leaving shortly. Please go ahead and put your personal items under the seat in front of you and place your trays back in the locked position. At this time please also fasten your seat belt and we will be taking off shortly." Hello everyone!  What a week! So many wonderful things happened!  First, the devotionals here are absolutely amazing!! Last Tuesday we had a devotional with Elder and Sister Kearon. They spoke about doing everything we do with love, not comparing ourselves and living the message we share. One thing that really stuck out to me was how when we live what we say people can see it in us. Elder Kearon told us the story of how he converted to the gospel. He said he doesn't remember what the Sisters said to him but he does remember the light was shining from them because they lived the message. That is how I want and hope to be on my mission. Words do matter but who we are matters more.  On Sunday ...

"Hello everyone we have safely landed at the Provo Missionary Training Center! We are about half way through our layover here. Boarding for our next flight will begin momentarily but for now please sit tight! Thank you!" Well! What a week everyone!  On Wednesday my siblings dropped me off at the MTC! We first went to lunch and hand some AMAZING fried chicken and then took some farewell pictures at the Temple. But! While we were there someone yelled my name! I turned about and it was SISTER BRADY! My MTC companion! It was such a blessing to see her! I love her so much and it has been so much fun with her here!! My district is so amazing!! We have all become pretty good friends and have so much fun together! We've played sand volleyball together a couple of times and it's always such a party!! We also had the opportunity to go to the temple this morning. What a special and sacred place. I love going to the temple. Classes have been soooooo much better this week! In pe...
