"A Child's Prayer - August 31, 2021

"We hope you all have had an enjoyable flight so far. We are coming in for landing at the Provo Missionary Training Center. At this time please fasten your seatbelts and we will be landing shortly."

Hello Everyone!

Wow! What a week! My classes have been amazing!! And I have the best district ever!! We are all soooo excited to finally meet each other tomorrow!! And honestly I am so excited to just finally be there!

All of my classes have been so good! From 8:30-11:30 Brother Gonzalez is our teacher. He is the best!! From 1:30-4:30 we have Sister Ball and she is also the best! We have been learning so much about teaching the Restoration. On Saturday we taught our companions in just a few minutes. Then yesterday we had 20 minutes to teach another companionship in our district! Sister Brady and I were assigned to teach Elder Fjeldsted and Elder Skousen. They said we did a good job! And from Sister Brady and my standpoint we felt pretty good about it too! We are all so excited to get out into the field!

One thing that we discussed a lot of this week was how Heavenly Father Loves us all. He loves us so much that of all the names He could have gone by He chooses to go first by Father. I testify that He lives and loves us all. He is our Father and He wants to hear from us. We talk to Him through prayer, but more on that a little later.

On Friday, Emma, my older sister, came up to Kaysville and took me to the Payson Temple. We did a session and WOW! It is absolutely beautiful inside! I've always known the insides of temples were beautiful but being in there and doing work for an ancestor just makes it so much better! And OH MY GOODNESS! The Celestial Room was so gorgeous!! The Lord could not have chosen a better place to call His home here on earth. Temples truly are little pieces of Heaven here on earth.

Then, today, my Grandma and Grandpa Hunsaker took me to the Jordan River Temple to do a session! It was the same as Payson. Absolutely beautiful inside! I am so grateful that we have places like the temple where we can go, forget about time, be away from the world and feel the love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for us.

Which brings me to...

The Song of the Week! "A Child's Prayer." This song has been on my mind a lot this week. It first came up when we watched "The Cokeville Miracle" last week. What an inspiring story of finding faith in Jesus Christ. At the end it shows the children in primary singing "A Child's Prayer." Then when I was in the temple on Friday I found myself praying to my Heavenly Father. It was such a powerful experience. I felt His love for me so strongly. He Lives!! And He is there for us, just like Jesus Christ. The last line of "A Child's Prayer" says,
"Father, in prayer I'm coming now to Thee."
Through prayer we can feel God's love for us. I know this to be true and I challenge everyone to find a time this week to sincerely pray to God, in whatever way you do pray. Additionally, find ways in which you feel His love for you.

I hope you all have a wonderful week! Next time I email I will be in the Provo MTC!!! Almost there folks! Hold on and let's all enjoy this ride! Talk to y'all next Tuesday!!!

Love,
 Sister Francis
